Optimum Internet service Provider was previously known as Cablevision. Below are most common speed packages available from Optimum. If you don’t know your speed tier, login to your optimum account and check your speed Package:
- Optimum 10 (10 Mbps down)
- Optimum 60 (60 Mbps down)
- Optimum 100 (100 Mbps down)
- Optimum 200 (200 Mbps down)
- Optimum 300 ( 300 Mbps down)
- Optimum 400 (400 Mbps down)
Optimum charges $4.95/month to $9.95/month as rental fee for their leased modems. Save on these rental fees by purchasing your own Cable Modem.
Optimum typically activates any certified DOCSIS 3.0 modem but it is better to stick with Arris or NETGEAR since many other people have purchased them.
DOCSIS 3.1 Modems are typically not recommended for Optimum/Cablevision/Altice as they have not rolled out DOCSIS 3.1 OFDM service yet.
Optimum does NOT allow retail voice modems unless they are purchased from Arris store. We do not recommend these modems are they are very old modems which will impact your Internet speed. You can always purchase a Ooma device to get phone line and even lower your monthly phone bills.
